TEKVOX Launches Scholaris™ Series 100: A Standardized, Centrally Managed Classroom Platform For Higher Education

April 7, 2026 by Sam Steup

As colleges and universities face shrinking budgets, reduced AV staffing, and increasing demand for hybrid learning, TEKVOX today introduced the Scholaris™ Series 100: a fully standardized, centrally managed classroom technology platform that eliminates custom UI development and reduces lifecycle support costs.

Designed specifically for higher education IT and AV teams, Scholaris delivers a complete, pre-programmed, single-rack-unit Drop-In classroom solution with a standardized, ADA-compliant user interface and enterprise-level remote management.

Unlike traditional classroom systems that rely on custom programming or integrator-developed interfaces, Scholaris requires no UI development, no per-room software engineering, and no ongoing reprogramming costs. Institutions can now standardize classroom technology across campus while reducing support complexity and long-term operational expense.

“Scholaris allows higher education institutions to standardize classroom technology across campus without the cost and complexity of custom programming,” said Jim Reinhart, CEO of TEKVOX. “We’ve removed engineering overhead from the deployment process while delivering a managed infrastructure platform that improves lifecycle value, supports efficiency, and budget predictability.”

“Higher ed institutions are under constant pressure to do more with less, so solutions that simplify deployment, standardize the user experience, and reduce long-term support burdens matter more than ever,” stated Josiah Way, PhD cofounder of HETMA.  “What stands out about Scholaris is its focus on helping colleges and universities scale classroom technology in a way that is predictable, manageable, and aligned with the operational realities of today’s campus IT and AV teams.”

A Managed Classroom Infrastructure Platform

The Scholaris Series 100 occupies a single rack unit (RU) at the lectern or podium and ships fully programmed, tested, and ready for rapid installation.

The base S111L model supports local instruction with:

  • Five HDMI inputs and one USB-C input with laptop charging
  • Single-cable 5Play HDBaseT backbone (video, audio, RS232, LAN, USB)
  • Integrated amplifier with four ceiling tile speakers
  • Multi-technology occupancy sensor for automation and energy savings
  • 3.5-inch color touchscreen interface
  • TEK 4 control processor with enterprise remote management

The S111C model adds HyFlex capabilities with:

  • 4K panoramic student camera
  • ePTZ auto-tracking instructor camera
  • Whole-room digital array microphone

All Scholaris systems include campus-wide remote monitoring, diagnostics, reporting, and schedule/occupancy-based automation to support sustainability initiatives and reduce unnecessary runtime.

Built for Standardization at Scale

  • Uniform classroom interface across all rooms
  • Zero custom UI development
  • No integrator software lock-in
  • Lifetime software warranty
  • Tier-2 technical support
  • Continuous feature enhancements at no additional software cost

The Scholaris UI color scheme is ADA-compliant for color blindness and field-adjustable by campus AV administrators.

The Scholaris Series 100 is shipping now, with MSRP starting under $10,000.

TEKVOX Joins OpenAV Cloud Initiative

May 30, 2025 by Jim Reinhart

TEKVOX is pleased to announce that it has joined OpenAV Cloud, an industry-wide initiative bringing together AV manufacturers and technology providers to drive the adoption of open and standardized cloud connectivity and API-driven innovation. OpenAV Cloud is an industry-led, new initiative aimed at creating a seamless, interoperable, and customer-first AV ecosystem that benefits the entire value chain from manufacturers to integrators to end users.

OpenAV Cloud officially launched May 21 at the AV Cloud Summit Spring Event, the go-to event for AV professionals to understand, explore, and lead the cloud-driven transformation of the AV industry. Founding members of the OpenAV Cloud initiative include Sony, Panasonic, Legrand, Shure, BrightSign and Xyte. They believe the more new players that join, the faster OpenAV Cloud can build the tools, standards, and connections that all customers need to shape the future of the AV industry.

“We are excited to be part of OpenAV Cloud whose vision aligns so closely with that of TEKVOX,” says TEKVOX CEO Jim Reinhart. “This new initiative provides the framework to meet the needs of today’s AV customers, and we are eager to collaborate with our OpenAV Cloud partners to move ahead in AV’s cloud evolution.”

As the AV industry undergoes a fundamental shift to the cloud, fragmentation and proprietary ecosystems slow down innovation. Customers demand flexibility, integration, and interoperability across different brands and platforms. An open, integrated AV ecosystem where hardware and software seamlessly connect through cloud technologies and open APIs will speed up innovation, improve customer experiences, and build stronger, more flexible business models across the board.

As a member of OpenAV Cloud, TEKVOX is committed to having a cloud platform with open read-and-write APIs, which will let their devices, platforms, and services work together smoothly and securely. Members will also collaborate to create shared standards for things like secure data access, system telemetry, and cloud-to-cloud integration — so products can connect across ecosystems without running into proprietary walls. Once those barriers are out of the way, a whole new world of possibilities opens up: remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, smart automations, cross-platform analytics, and more — all built on secure, seamless connections.

“There’s no doubt that OpenAV Cloud members are laying the technical foundation for a stronger, more flexible AV ecosystem,” says Reinhart. “TEKVOX is proud to be part of this initiative that’s leading the way in the future of the AV industry.”
