TEKVOX Introduces Room Mics Booster Pack, Fully-Integrated System of Array Microphones for Videoconferencing

October 29, 2020 by Leave a Comment

TEKVOX has announced the release of 710BP-Room_Mics, a Drop-In booster pack designed to add a system of microphones to a new or existing AV system. This booster pack consists of a fully-integrated system of array microphones for capturing crystal clear audio in any room, plus an audio digital signal processor (DSP) for performing automatic echo cancellation and mixing. All ceiling microphones come mounted on clear Plexiglas plates for easy installation and high-quality sound pickup.

“Room_Mics stands apart in its approach since it is designed to work with the AV system a customer already has,” notes TEKVOX CEO Jim Reinhart. “The booster pack can be an option for new systems to add full-room videoconferencing, or it can upgrade an existing AV system with videoconferencing capabilities. Room_Mics saves time and money compared to buying individual components, and its install-plug-play operation couldn’t be easier.”

The Room Mics booster pack includes connections for an instructor’s wireless mic, a desk- or podium-mounted mic, and six high-quality, ceiling-mounted array microphones for students to guarantee impressive full-room audio. Each array microphone picks up sound in a wide arc, ensuring clear, consistent sound from anywhere in the room.

All microphones are connected to the DSP, which dynamically adjusts, filters, and enhances room audio so everyone is heard, loud sounds are dampened, and any noise or echo is entirely eliminated. A USB connection routes audio to and from a videoconferencing PC (not included) for perfect full-room integration and a clean and easy-to-use videoconferencing experience every time. Once adjusted, filtered, and mixed, the mics are routed to an audio amplifier to be played over the room’s speakers.

The Room Mics booster pack is shipping now with an MSRP of $6,650. The booster pack is shipped fully functional, pre-programmed, and rigorously tested.

“Room_Mics is unique in the market, offering a full room’s worth of audio capabilities and unparalleled ease of use for any videoconferencing application,” Reinhart concludes.

TEKVOX Supports Innovative INCubatoredu Program for High School Entrepreneurs with 4K Collaboration Station Drop-In Systems

September 23, 2020 by Leave a Comment

TEKVOX is supporting Uncharted Learning’s national INCubatoredu program—which offers high school students an authentic entrepreneurship experience as they make presentations and build proposals—with sophisticated 4K collaboration systems at two Texas high schools.

Uncharted Learning launched the first INCubatoredu program in Barrington, Illinois in 2013. Since then, many more high schools nationwide have adopted this rigorous curriculum, enabling students to learn foundational business concepts

from entrepreneurs and business experts. These coaches guide student teams through the processes of ideation, market research, and business plan development. Students conduct a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) presentation to secure funding to test their product, and innovative ideas have the possibility of securing additional funding that will help turn their business plans into a reality.

“TEKVOX is proud to have upgraded the INCubatoredu spaces at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Ridge and Vandegrift High School in Leander with our 4K collaboration Drop-Ins,” says TEKVOX CEO Jim Reinhart. “These systems represent the apex of advanced A/V teamwork solutions, and really take the back-and-forth group work at the heart of the INCubatoredu program to the next level with their incredible versatility & ease of use.”

Vista Ridge and Vandegrift have very similar solutions; an instructor podium and main display occupy the front of the room, with six student pods—each seating four to five people—distributed throughout the rest of the space.

Each student pod has its own display and can function as a fully-independent collaboration station, complete with 4K resolution, flexible multiview configurations, and touchscreen controls. The instructor can operate the space as a standard classroom, displaying sources—such as a PC, laptop, document camera, or Blu-ray player—on the main display at the front of the classroom.

“The greatest strength of our INCubatoredu systems lies in the connected collaboration opportunities they provide,” Reinhart explains. “Instructors can present any of their sources on the student pods’ displays or on the main display, or share one pod’s work with the rest of the class. This results in a cohesive system in which students can collaborate with their group, the instructor, and the rest of the class.”

In addition to this, the INCubatoredu Drop-In supports seamless video conferencing and lecture capture. Each student pod, along with the instructor podium, is outfitted with a microphone, and the room has dedicated cameras for the instructor and students, all fully-integrated into the overall system. This allows visiting experts and entrepreneurs to present to the class remotely, and allows the instructor to record their presentations for future reference.

With state-of-the-art connected collaboration, unrivaled ease-of-use, and fully-integrated video conferencing & lecture capture, TEKVOX’s INCubatoredu Drop-Ins offer a sophisticated solution for these programs that stimulates innovation and collaboration. TEKVOX looks forward to working with other INCubatoredu programs in the future to achieve their goals of business & entrepreneurship education.

TEKVOX Launches Three-in-One ShareView Video Conferencing PC

August 12, 2020 by Leave a Comment

TEKVOX has introduced the ShareView Video Conferencing PC (P/N 79402), a one-box solution that combines a powerful video conference–ready PC, TEKVOX’s ShareView software, and the TEK-PC software-based system controller in a compact package for unparalleled videoconferencing and distance engagement.

The ShareView PC is a highly integrated, three-in-one solution that accomplishes what individual TEKVOX components have previously offered customers, but with a significantly higher degree of integration. “The ShareView PC is ideal for those looking for a one-box product to provide videoconferencing and remote learning capabilities,” says TEKVOX CEO Jim Reinhart.

“With a footprint of just 63 square inches and a weight of seven pounds, the ShareView PC is easy to install and fit in offices and classrooms.

“A few years ago, achieving what the ShareView PC does would have required up to five individual components,” he explains. “The streamlined ShareView PC is a stand-alone videoconferencing solution with as few pieces of hardware as possible.”

Sharing content in a typical PC-based conference room requires the content owner either to transfer the content onto the host PC or to connect their laptop to the meeting in parallel. Moving content to the host PC via USB drive or file-sharing raises security concerns, while connecting in parallel from the meeting room wastes time, increases cost and often creates myriad frustrating audio feedback issues. ShareView eliminates these problems, combining the sophistication of a video codex system and the convenience of web-based videoconferencing with an affordable, intuitive and non-invasive interface.

The ShareView PC features a Win 10 IoT PC with two built-in HDMI inputs, i7 CPU, support for 4Kx2K@60Hz resolution, 64 GB of memory and four dedicated RS232 ports for conducting serial control of other devices.

“It’s an amazing one-box solution that puts no load on the campus network and never requires downloading additional software,” notes Reinhart. “Every iteration of TEKVOX’s videoconferencing and distance engagement systems streamlines and more fully integrates the product and the user experience. We believe that the ShareView PC will be the new standard for videoconferencing and distance engagement.”

ShareView PC is available now via TEKVOX authorized dealers.

It features HD PTZ cameras, which record both the instructor and students, a local network for uninterrupted functionality even during a network outage, and simultaneous recording and presentation of content.

Businesses seeking conference room solutions can opt for TEKVOX’s Tier 0 Small Video Conference Room system or the Tier 1 model for larger meetings. The Tier 0 71021-T0-SV system elevates meetings by providing crystal-clear audio and video with an all-in-one camera, microphone, and speaker, while allowing for plug-and-play sharing from a laptop or tablet. With a single, easy-to-use interface and features such as automation, scheduling, remote management, and anti-theft monitoring, running a straightforward, professional video conference has never been easier.

The Tier 1 71021-T1-SV expands capacity for medium-sized conference rooms without sacrificing functionality. It allows multiple people to share content locally or in a video conference, all with powerful, intuitive room control at the push of a button.

TEKVOX and SKG Forge Partnership to Offer One-Stop Technology-Workspace Solutions

June 18, 2020 by Leave a Comment

It was serendipity when Jim Reinhart, CEO of TEKVOX, met Diana Keller, Co-founder and President of SKG Inc. while they were walking their dogs about four years ago. During the ensuing conversation they discovered that TEKVOX’s unique A/V control solutions and SKG’s innovative workspace designs were complementary businesses and natural partners. Thoughtfully integrating A/V technology with well-designed office furniture makes for better overall office design and a more efficient and engagingorkplace and avoids destroying expensive tables and consoles to adapt them to A/V use.

Reinhart and Keller have forged a partnership that has expanded business for both of their firms. They have teamed on a project for the Leander Independent School District and on the entrepreneurialcubator classroom facilities at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park; they completed a job for X Technologies in San Antonio and partnered on A/V collaboration tables and videowalls across a wide range of industries.

“Tech means equipment, power and cabling. Office or instructional furniture designed with no thought about how it will be used can be pretty but also pretty expensive to effectively use,” says Reinhart. “How do you put tech in a typical marble-topped executive conference table? We’ve encountered this time and time again with our line of drop-in solutions. It costs the customer a lot of time and money to do this at installation time when the actual-case hasn’t been comprehended.”

From the outset, he and Keller were on the same page in wanting to achieve the best results for clients investing in cutting-edge technology. Keller refers to creating “holistic work force solutions that fuse technology, furniture and the workplace environment, something most companies don’t even consider,” Reinhart points out. “It’s about functionality, aesthetics and economics; you have to own the whole experience. TEKVOX spends a lot of time thinking about how to install equipment, and SKG drives thoughtfulness in design:what happens when people use the furniture.”

He notes that SKG has been “in the forefront of integrating technology with design, materials and furniture to create a comprehensive solution. They supply solutions not just furniture. This kind of support creates a long-term bond with the customer.”

Keller recalls that when SKG opened in Austin 25 years ago the company was already more forward thinking than the competition and well prepared for the area’s rise as an innovation hub. “There’s been lots of growth in high tech; we see the area just exploding,” she says.

Partnering with TEKVOX positioned SKG to take advantage of the high-tech boom: Keller estimates that technology and furniture packages now comprise about 30% of SKG’s total work.

“We understand each other’s products and philosophies,” Keller says of TEKVOX and SKG. “We want our clients to press the easy button: It’s such a pain for clients to have to deal with multiple vendors. With TEKVOX we can collaborate easily without going through layers of infrastructure.

“The tech is there today to push us toward a hands-free environment. A conference room should know what tech you have and be able to adapt to the install. Our workplace should respond to us; we have to become digitally fit and literate in technology in order to maximize how to use it.”

On TEKVOX’s part teaming with SKG streamlines the process for customers investing in TEKVOX’s line of easy-to-use drop-in solutions. They gain the benefits of one-stop shopping and workspaces tailored for innovative A/V technology and creative collaboration.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a challenging time, and effective A/V communication across distances has become a necessity for many sectors. TEKVOX and SKG are working to develop a financing option so clients such as small municipal governments can set up live-streaming environments for the first time.

“We are interested in seeing what we can do to get them working on a distance basis with their constituents so they can get the word out from their homes, chambers or whatever venue may require live-streaming,” says Reinhart.

TEKVOX Introduces World’s Lowest Cost Fully Managed Classroom Solution

February 3, 2020 by Leave a Comment

TEKVOX, Inc. announced the release of its 71202 and 71204 Drop-In AV® Classroom solutions featuring a revolutionary hardware/software fusion that migrates its award-winning TekMonitor control system to the classroom PC.

Rather than employing a typical hardware control and management system, the 712xx utilizes the classroom PC as the host for the secure PC-TekMonitor application and further uses USB I/O to control external devices such as projectors and switchers.

“As we continue to lower the barriers to adoption of managed AV systems in the K-12 markets, we’ve embraced hardware minimization by using spare cycles in the powerful PCs already resident in most classrooms” said Jim Reinhart, CEO of TEKVOX. “The new 71202 and 71204 require very little hardware to provision a fully managed and remotely supportable classroom system. They are both economical and eco-friendly.”

The 72104 “Eco+” supports four HDMI inputs, an HDBaseT HDMI extender set and the innovative Elgato Stream Deck user interface. The PC-TekMonitor uses a trivial amount of the PC’s resources. Going a step further, the 71202 “Eco” provides PC and auxiliary HDMI inputs and uses TEKVOX’s ShareView technology to perform AV switching inside the PC. Both systems feature comprehensive management of projectors or flat panel displays, automated power management and the full benefits of TEKVOX’s powerful TekManager and TekEnterprise AV management systems. TEKVOX also provides options for Tier 1 or Tier 2 user support via its remote management tools.

The 71202 and 71204 provide are well-suited to cost- and resource-constrained schools where both budget dollars and support resources are precious. “Our Eco and Eco+ Drop-Ins are game changers for schools who believe that modern managed systems with remote support are beyond their means” concluded Reinhart.

Retailing at $1,295 and $1,650, respectively, the 71202 and 71204 are available immediately. All TEKVOX Drop-In AV® systems are programmed and tested in the company’s central Texas facility and are pre-integrated with required cables; ready to install.

Texas Southern University Upgrades Earl Carl Courtroom w/ TEKVOX Drop-In A/V Solutions

December 2, 2019 by Leave a Comment

When it came time to renovate the Earl Carl Courtroom at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, TSU selected a TEKVOX Drop-In A/V solution to provide students and teachers with advanced audio and video capabilities in an easy-to-use, powerful system.

“We have been working with TSU for quite some time replacing campus classroom systems with sophisticated distance learning solutions,” Jim Reinhart, CEO of TEKVOX said. “As the centerpiece of the law school, the faculty wanted to add distance learning capabilities to the Earl Carl Courtroom , too.”

Network cable designer and installer PCS Telecom, which had the courtroom’s renovation contract, partnered with TEKVOX to install the Drop-In A/V solution; replacing a complex legacy system that required significant staff input with a highly-automated, compact managed system that can be used with very little training.

TEKVOX Drop-In A/V solutions are highly automated, networked managed and factory-programmed. They are configured for easy integration and installation, reliability and simple maintenance. Within the standard Drop-Ins, application-specific configuration options include combining or dividing rooms at a touch, optimizing conference table installation, adding podium/credenza inputs and control to conference rooms, and making conference rooms and board rooms ready for complex audio and VTC integration.

TEKVOX developed the 32-slot flexible matrix system specifically for the Earl Carl Courtroom with numerous I/Os to handle the needs of faculty and students who take up positions throughout the space during instructional sessions. Multi-stream Ultra High Definition video recording offers a futureproof method of lecture capture in the courtroom and simplifies retention and playback compared to multiple recorder systems. The TEKVOX Drop-In solution cut the size of the equipment rack in half reducing six linear feet of gear to just three linear feet.

Despite its advanced features, the new system is marked by ease of use that faculty and students appreciate. “A single touchscreen display on the courtroom podium unifies control in one easy-to-operate interface,” Reinhart explains. “There’s no need for anyone to undergo complex training.”

He notes that the A/V install by PCS Telecom was the first of its kind performed by the network cable designer. “PCS successfully expanded its portfolio with this project for one of the most sophisticated classrooms in education,” says Reinhart.

LSC – University Park Conference Center Equipped with TEKVOX Drop-In A/V Solutions

March 21, 2019 by Leave a Comment

Lone Star College (LSC)-University Park Conference Center has installed TEKVOX Drop-In A/V solutions throughout the venue for the purpose of outfitting multiple rooms in modular configurations to meet the current and foreseeable audio/visual technology need with ease. With more than 22,000 square feet of meeting space that can be arranged in a variety of configurations, the LSC-University Park Conference Center has also simplified A/V tech set-up for LSC staff with factory-preprogrammed touch screens—a literal push-button solution with TEKVOX Drop-In A/V systems.

As one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the nation, LSC looks toward innovative technology companies to meet the needs of its 99,000 students across six campus locations. TEKVOX is represented in more than 1,000 LSC classrooms, lecture halls, and conference rooms and may be the largest managed A/V system in the educational sector. “The LSC-University Park Conference Center demonstrates our forward-thinking attitude toward technology,” Butch Juelg, Associate Vice Chancellor, Office of Technology Services at LSC said.

TEKVOX Drop-In A/V solutions are highly automated, network-managed and factory-programmed.

At the University Park Conference Center two TEKVOX Drop-In A/V solutions, with distributed control, serve as separate and independent head ends, one for the building’s conference center floor and one for the executive briefing center’s array of rooms. Each system features a 32-slot flexible matrix and is populated with 4K technology to meet users’ current and future needs.

Education technology solution provider Troxell Communications and A/V integrator CX2, Inc. partnered on the University Park installation, which is housed in the former Compaq/HP facility. “The conference center is heavily used by Houston-area businesses and is a significant asset for Lone Star College,” Jim Reinhart, CEO of TEKVOX said. “Drop-In A/V solutions from TEKVOX give conference managers what they need—A/V tech that works the way you need it; when you need it.”

“The size and scope of the University Park Conference Center were exceptional,” Adela Briner, Account Executive at Troxell said. “We are proud that our partnership with all the players enabled such a large-scale project to be successfully delivered on time and on budget.” TEKVOX teamed with CX2 to design the custom Drop-In and audio solutions for the conference center, tailoring the head ends for the rooms’ different configurations: number and type of displays, inputs for roll-in podiums in the executive briefing center and fixed inputs in the larger conference rooms.

“The system is operated by simple in-room touchscreens,” Reinhart explained. “No training and no special maintenance are required. Users can control anything from any touchscreen in the facility, and layout changes – when a room is partitioned, for example – are transparent to the user.

“TEKVOX Drop-In solutions offer predictability in scheduling and costs, which is important for educational institutions,” he added. “Because the systems are largely built and programmed at TEKVOX, we can accurately predict how long installation will take – a key factor when the school’s space needs to be taken offline for the install. Cost-effective Drop-In solutions enable educational institutions to generate revenue from their assets, which often may have gone unused.”
