TEKVOX Supports Innovative INCubatoredu Program for High School Entrepreneurs with 4K Collaboration Station Drop-In Systems

September 23, 2020 by Leave a Comment

TEKVOX is supporting Uncharted Learning’s national INCubatoredu program—which offers high school students an authentic entrepreneurship experience as they make presentations and build proposals—with sophisticated 4K collaboration systems at two Texas high schools.

Uncharted Learning launched the first INCubatoredu program in Barrington, Illinois in 2013. Since then, many more high schools nationwide have adopted this rigorous curriculum, enabling students to learn foundational business concepts

from entrepreneurs and business experts. These coaches guide student teams through the processes of ideation, market research, and business plan development. Students conduct a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) presentation to secure funding to test their product, and innovative ideas have the possibility of securing additional funding that will help turn their business plans into a reality.

“TEKVOX is proud to have upgraded the INCubatoredu spaces at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Ridge and Vandegrift High School in Leander with our 4K collaboration Drop-Ins,” says TEKVOX CEO Jim Reinhart. “These systems represent the apex of advanced A/V teamwork solutions, and really take the back-and-forth group work at the heart of the INCubatoredu program to the next level with their incredible versatility & ease of use.”

Vista Ridge and Vandegrift have very similar solutions; an instructor podium and main display occupy the front of the room, with six student pods—each seating four to five people—distributed throughout the rest of the space.

Each student pod has its own display and can function as a fully-independent collaboration station, complete with 4K resolution, flexible multiview configurations, and touchscreen controls. The instructor can operate the space as a standard classroom, displaying sources—such as a PC, laptop, document camera, or Blu-ray player—on the main display at the front of the classroom.

“The greatest strength of our INCubatoredu systems lies in the connected collaboration opportunities they provide,” Reinhart explains. “Instructors can present any of their sources on the student pods’ displays or on the main display, or share one pod’s work with the rest of the class. This results in a cohesive system in which students can collaborate with their group, the instructor, and the rest of the class.”

In addition to this, the INCubatoredu Drop-In supports seamless video conferencing and lecture capture. Each student pod, along with the instructor podium, is outfitted with a microphone, and the room has dedicated cameras for the instructor and students, all fully-integrated into the overall system. This allows visiting experts and entrepreneurs to present to the class remotely, and allows the instructor to record their presentations for future reference.

With state-of-the-art connected collaboration, unrivaled ease-of-use, and fully-integrated video conferencing & lecture capture, TEKVOX’s INCubatoredu Drop-Ins offer a sophisticated solution for these programs that stimulates innovation and collaboration. TEKVOX looks forward to working with other INCubatoredu programs in the future to achieve their goals of business & entrepreneurship education.

TEKVOX Launches Three-in-One ShareView Video Conferencing PC

August 12, 2020 by Leave a Comment

TEKVOX has introduced the ShareView Video Conferencing PC (P/N 79402), a one-box solution that combines a powerful video conference–ready PC, TEKVOX’s ShareView software, and the TEK-PC software-based system controller in a compact package for unparalleled videoconferencing and distance engagement.

The ShareView PC is a highly integrated, three-in-one solution that accomplishes what individual TEKVOX components have previously offered customers, but with a significantly higher degree of integration. “The ShareView PC is ideal for those looking for a one-box product to provide videoconferencing and remote learning capabilities,” says TEKVOX CEO Jim Reinhart.

“With a footprint of just 63 square inches and a weight of seven pounds, the ShareView PC is easy to install and fit in offices and classrooms.

“A few years ago, achieving what the ShareView PC does would have required up to five individual components,” he explains. “The streamlined ShareView PC is a stand-alone videoconferencing solution with as few pieces of hardware as possible.”

Sharing content in a typical PC-based conference room requires the content owner either to transfer the content onto the host PC or to connect their laptop to the meeting in parallel. Moving content to the host PC via USB drive or file-sharing raises security concerns, while connecting in parallel from the meeting room wastes time, increases cost and often creates myriad frustrating audio feedback issues. ShareView eliminates these problems, combining the sophistication of a video codex system and the convenience of web-based videoconferencing with an affordable, intuitive and non-invasive interface.

The ShareView PC features a Win 10 IoT PC with two built-in HDMI inputs, i7 CPU, support for 4Kx2K@60Hz resolution, 64 GB of memory and four dedicated RS232 ports for conducting serial control of other devices.

“It’s an amazing one-box solution that puts no load on the campus network and never requires downloading additional software,” notes Reinhart. “Every iteration of TEKVOX’s videoconferencing and distance engagement systems streamlines and more fully integrates the product and the user experience. We believe that the ShareView PC will be the new standard for videoconferencing and distance engagement.”

ShareView PC is available now via TEKVOX authorized dealers.

TEKVOX and SKG Forge Partnership to Offer One-Stop Technology-Workspace Solutions

June 18, 2020 by Leave a Comment

It was serendipity when Jim Reinhart, CEO of TEKVOX, met Diana Keller, Co-founder and President of SKG Inc. while they were walking their dogs about four years ago. During the ensuing conversation they discovered that TEKVOX’s unique A/V control solutions and SKG’s innovative workspace designs were complementary businesses and natural partners. Thoughtfully integrating A/V technology with well-designed office furniture makes for better overall office design and a more efficient and engagingorkplace and avoids destroying expensive tables and consoles to adapt them to A/V use.

Reinhart and Keller have forged a partnership that has expanded business for both of their firms. They have teamed on a project for the Leander Independent School District and on the entrepreneurialcubator classroom facilities at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park; they completed a job for X Technologies in San Antonio and partnered on A/V collaboration tables and videowalls across a wide range of industries.

“Tech means equipment, power and cabling. Office or instructional furniture designed with no thought about how it will be used can be pretty but also pretty expensive to effectively use,” says Reinhart. “How do you put tech in a typical marble-topped executive conference table? We’ve encountered this time and time again with our line of drop-in solutions. It costs the customer a lot of time and money to do this at installation time when the actual-case hasn’t been comprehended.”

From the outset, he and Keller were on the same page in wanting to achieve the best results for clients investing in cutting-edge technology. Keller refers to creating “holistic work force solutions that fuse technology, furniture and the workplace environment, something most companies don’t even consider,” Reinhart points out. “It’s about functionality, aesthetics and economics; you have to own the whole experience. TEKVOX spends a lot of time thinking about how to install equipment, and SKG drives thoughtfulness in design:what happens when people use the furniture.”

He notes that SKG has been “in the forefront of integrating technology with design, materials and furniture to create a comprehensive solution. They supply solutions not just furniture. This kind of support creates a long-term bond with the customer.”

Keller recalls that when SKG opened in Austin 25 years ago the company was already more forward thinking than the competition and well prepared for the area’s rise as an innovation hub. “There’s been lots of growth in high tech; we see the area just exploding,” she says.

Partnering with TEKVOX positioned SKG to take advantage of the high-tech boom: Keller estimates that technology and furniture packages now comprise about 30% of SKG’s total work.

“We understand each other’s products and philosophies,” Keller says of TEKVOX and SKG. “We want our clients to press the easy button: It’s such a pain for clients to have to deal with multiple vendors. With TEKVOX we can collaborate easily without going through layers of infrastructure.

“The tech is there today to push us toward a hands-free environment. A conference room should know what tech you have and be able to adapt to the install. Our workplace should respond to us; we have to become digitally fit and literate in technology in order to maximize how to use it.”

On TEKVOX’s part teaming with SKG streamlines the process for customers investing in TEKVOX’s line of easy-to-use drop-in solutions. They gain the benefits of one-stop shopping and workspaces tailored for innovative A/V technology and creative collaboration.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a challenging time, and effective A/V communication across distances has become a necessity for many sectors. TEKVOX and SKG are working to develop a financing option so clients such as small municipal governments can set up live-streaming environments for the first time.

“We are interested in seeing what we can do to get them working on a distance basis with their constituents so they can get the word out from their homes, chambers or whatever venue may require live-streaming,” says Reinhart.
